Principal's Bio
Principal
Being an educator has always been important to me. I remember playing school every time I went to my grandparents from a young age. The laundry hamper was my desk. I have been employed with Hamilton County for 35 years. I taught several grade levels for 25 years at Spring Creek Elementary, was the assistant principal at Battle Academy for two years, and came to Soddy as the principal in 2012.
I graduated from high school in Michigan and moved to Chattanooga to attend Tennessee Temple University. I earned my degree in Elementary Education. After teaching for several years, I attended UTC and earned a masters' degree in Administration and Supervision. Through Public Education Foundation I was able to gain knowledge and experiences to further my learning through the Leadership Fellows Program and Assistant Principal's Academy. This training is proving to be extremely valuable as I work with teachers, students and parents and continue to learn daily.
My husband, Charlie, and I live in East Ridge and have been married 16 years. We enjoy spending time together working in the yard, laughing, watching movies and spending time with family. I enjoy reading, going to the beach, crafting and playing games.
I am grateful to have a career I love and enjoy. It is not always easy, but it is rewarding and fulfilling. I am excited to spend another year with the Soddy community.
