Hello My Name Is...
Andrew Karpinko
I have been teaching for HCDE since 2015. I was a fourth grade English Language Arts teacher at Lakeside Academy from 2015-2017. August 2017 was my first year teaching at Soddy Elementary. Soddy Elementary is an amazing school, and I am thrilled Mrs. Roden gave me the opportunity to work at such a great school.
I grew up in Upstate New York, 30 miles north of Syracuse. I attended the University of Pittsburgh, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Ecology & Evolution, with a minor in Chemistry. After spending several years substitute teaching and tutoring for the Fulton City School District, I knew my place was in the classroom. In 2011 I obtained my Masters In Elementary Teaching Grades 1-6 from SUNY Oswego. After several years in Buffalo, NY, my family and I decided to move to Chattanooga, TN.
I currently reside in Soddy Daisy, TN with my beautiful wife, our amazing children (girl and boy) and our three crazy dogs.
My spare time is spent with family and friends. I love sports, especially football and lacrosse, and I currently coach the Soddy Daisy High School Boys Lacrosse Team.
What I love most about teaching are the relationships I create with my students, getting them to laugh every day, and doing my best to help each student reach their full potential!
